Families, we need your help with punctuality.
Our data shows that students at FMS are improving in getting to class on time and being ready to learn. Thank you for the support you’ve already provided at home. However, we still need to be better in two key parts of our day, and your partnership makes a big difference.
1. First Period (7:50 AM Start)
We continue to see a high number of tardies to first period. Starting the day on time is essential for setting students up for success. Please talk with your child about the importance of arriving prepared by:
- Going to their locker to put jackets away,
- Gathering school materials,
- Picking up their iPad,
- And being in their first-period classroom by 7:50 AM.
- A smooth, on-time start helps the entire day go better.
2. Fifth Period (Lunch & Falcon Time)
We’re also seeing students struggle to get to the lunchroom or Falcon Time on time. Some feel that Falcon Time or study hall is “less important,” but in reality, it’s a valuable time to complete work, stay organized, and get extra support.
Additionally, arriving to lunch on time helps our supervisors account for all students quickly, which is critical for building safety. Thank you for partnering with us to reinforce the importance of punctuality. Your conversations and reminders at home truly help our students build strong habits and contribute to a positive school environment.
